Privacy notice

Last updated 30 October 2026

This notice explains what Nodevia collects when your business uses our sensors and app, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We keep it short and plain on purpose. Questions go to sam@nodevia.co.uk.

Who we are

Nodevia provides temperature, humidity and energy monitoring for small hospitality businesses in the UK. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

What we collect

  • Your team's account details: email address, and if you add them, name, job title and mobile number.
  • Sensor readings: temperatures, humidity, door openings and energy use from the sensors we fit. These are about your equipment, not about people.
  • What happens in the app: alarms, who acknowledged them and any notes written, checks and reports, settings changes, and feedback you send us.
  • Phone notifications: if you turn them on, a technical address your browser gives us so we can send alarms to your phone.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share your data for marketing.

Why we use it

  • To run the service you signed up for: show readings, send alarms by email and phone, and produce your records (contract).
  • To keep the service secure and fix problems, using an activity log of what was done in the app (legitimate interests).
  • To improve Nodevia from the feedback you choose to send us (legitimate interests).

Where it is kept

All data is stored on Amazon Web Services in the EU (Ireland). Emails are sent through Amazon's email service. We do not use any other third party to process your data.

How long we keep it

  • Sensor readings: 90 days as standard, longer if your plan includes compliance reports.
  • Alarm history and the app activity log: 12 months.
  • Account details: while your business uses Nodevia. When you leave, we delete your account and data within 30 days unless the law requires us to keep it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, to correct it, or to delete it. You can also object to how we use it. Email us and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
